The Vine and Craven hunt held their annual Puppy Show at the Kennels in Hannington. The judges were Rodney Ellis and Sydney Bailey.
"Obviously everyone there was concerned about the future of the hunt, against a background of rumours that the Bill to abolish hunting would be re-introduced in the Queen's Speech. Anyone who thinks this is a sport for "toffs" should have been at Hannington to see how broad the base is for this sport; and there are genuinely higher priorities for the new Parliament than criminalising those who take part in traditional country pursuits."
