Extract from Fete Programme
Welcome to the second Heather House Summer Fete, which we hope will be even more successful than last year's event which raised over £1,600.
Certainly there is every reason for us all to make an extra effort, as Heather House itself has made enormous progress since last year.
Both the bungalows are now fully occupied, which means that sixteen young people and their families are benefiting from the remarkable service provided by our very committed staff team.
In addition a number of young people in the community are attending the Resource Centre on a daily basis, benefiting from the wide range of activities provided. These vary from hydrotherapy, use of the popular sensory room as well as a wide range of art and crafts and extensive rehabilitation activities.
These activities depend not only on staff and up to date facilities and equipment but also the increasing band of volunteers who are involved in the lives of our young people. If you would like more information about volunteering, please introduce yourself to Joanna Skarin, Heather House's Volunteer Co-ordinator, or phone her on 01189 817772
Our thanks must go to Val Frost and members of the Partnership Group who with staff and parents have done so much to make this fete such a great occasion. They work tirelessly to ensure that funds are available to provide our young people with the faci1ities needed to enrich their lives. Thanks also to our many sponsors and friends.
