Sir George launches the balloons at the Amport Church Fete, held on the Green.
In addition to the stalls raising funds for the Church, Amport PTA ran a stall raising funds for the village school by selling gas-filled ballons - with a scooter as first prize for the balloon travelling furthest. The stall was run by Melanie Bacon (far left in white trousers)
A separate raffle was held to raise funds for a hospital in Anandaban Nepal, run by the Leprosy Mission.

"Many congratulations to David and Carolyn Mallam and the team for running such a successful fete, with George Bacon as a highly professional Master of Ceremonies. More than £4,400 was raised of which £3000 will go to the Church"
