Minister calls in Tesco planning application at Tadley

Charles Falconer, Minister for Planning, has called in the planning application for a new Tesco supermarket at Tadley. He will decide the matter, rather than Basingstoke and Deane Council.
"I was slightly surprised to see this had been called in, as decisions such as this one are usually left to the local authority. But if he is going to call this one in, it raises the question as to whether he should call in the application for a Sainsbury Depot at Greenham Park, which has generated far more controversy"
