Andover Art Society holds Exhibition in Wherwell.

The former Mayor of Test Valley, Cllr Tony Hope (left) opened the Andover Art Society's Annual Exhibition at Wherwell Village Hall. This year's charity was Andover Mencap. The organiser was Soraya French - next to the Mayor.

"I bought a water colour by Jo Maw to go on the walls of my office at Portcullis House - which is gradually filling up with the works of local artists. I was delighted that the Art Society have decided to help Mencap, who have a very worthwhile project on the go (see below)"

lOam-5pm This year Andover Art Society have joined forces with the Andover & District Mencap to help raise much needed funds for this worthwhile charity. The immediate project to benefit from this event is the completion of a respite home for the mentally handicapped children.
We thank you for your support in previous years and hope to see you at the forthcoming exhibition where you will not only be able to enjoy the talent of the local artists but also just by attending the exhibition help support our fund-raising effort. Cream teas, wine and refreshments will be served throughout the week-end, Mencap will also be running a raffle.
