Sir George has welcomed the decision to fund 11 Streetwardens in Andover. The decision was communicated to him in a letter from Sally Keeble, Minister at DTLR, and responds to a bid from Test Valley Borough Council.

"I am delighted that the Government has recognised that there are problems in parts of Hampshire, and that we can bid successfully for extra money to deal with crime and anti-social behaviour"

The £320,700 that has been awarded will focus on those parts of Andover where there has been problems with graffiti, litter and where the environment needs uplifting.
