At the AGM of North West Hants Conservative Association's Overton Branch, held in the Community Centre in Overton, Sir George talks to Mel Byles, the prospective District Council candidate for Overton.
"Mel lives in the village and is well-known and liked, and has a good chance of winning the ward. I enjoyed canvassing with him at the last General Election, and he is very good on the doorstep."
The Conservatives need to win 6 seats to regain control of Basingstoke and Deane District Council, and are planning a vigorous campaign.
