Sir George shakes hands with Philip Langley, who has reopened his butcher's shop in Charlton Road, after moving from nearby Mylen Road.
"When Philip's lease ran out a few months ago, and Andover's last independent butcher closed, we assumed that was that - and that Andover had gone the way of so many other towns. But all credit to Philip for finding new premises, fitting them out and re-opening.
His new premises are better located than the old ones, and it is easier for his customers to park."
Philip told Sir George that his customers could buy a nice piece of steak from him; pop next door to Bottoms Up for a bottle of wine, and nip next door to the chemist for the alkaseltzer.
With Sir George in the picture is Mr Holmes from Eardley Avenue. Mr Holmes came to Sir George's Advice Bureau a year ago, urging Sir George to intervene to save Andover's last independent butcher.
