Dear Sir George
I write (as a "non-constituent" of North West Hampshire) to express my approval of the stance you have taken on fraudulent activity in the premium rate telecommunications sector.
I only recently became aware of the nature and scale of this problem when the memory on my wife's phone filled up with dozens of unsolicited reverse charge SMS messages from an offshore company in the British Virgin Islands.
Fortunately, we have now had a refund for all the money that was stolen from us, but I remain concerned that this (and other) multi-million pound scams are so ineffectively policed in the UK.
I wish you every success in your attempts to raise the profile of this issue.
Yours sincerely
Michael A Ward (Dr)

Dear Dr Ward
Thank you for the email and your kind remarks. I was glad to hear the incident was satisfactorily resolved; you might like to involve your own MP in the campaign to clean this all up.
best wishes, George Young |
