Please take action to stop the impending war.
The issue: Sir George

As one of your constituents I ask you to join with other MPs in demanding a debate and a free vote before any UK forces are committed to a war on Iraq. I believe that the majority of UK citizens have not been convinced that there is a justifiable cause to start a war on Iraq. So before voting to support a war please ask yourself what is the one overriding reason to go to war at this time? If you can find a justifiable cause I will be surprised. If a free vote is not arranged then please have the strength to deny the whip and vote as you feel your constituents would want you to.

If the USA wants to go in alone then let them. The UK must analyse and justify the case independently and not just do a "me too".

In summary, please oppose the impending war in parliament on my behalf.

My response: Thank you for the email. It is very helpful to hear from constituents on this crucial issue. We are expecting an announcement today about the timing of a debate and vote.
