| The issue: |
I am the chair of the finance and premises at Balksbury Infant school in Andover. I also have a son who attends the school.
The reson for the message is a hugh on going issue at the school of sewage smell. This has been a on going issue for some period of time which has now come to a stand still.
The county are saying they have done everything in clearing the drains following a cctv investigation. This has not resolved the situation the smell and inadequate drainage facitities remain. To expect everyone involved in this fantastic school just to put up with it is most unfair. I would like suggest that major work is needed to make the drainage adequate for its usage. I am sure the issue is cost which is why we are at a stand still. Please help!
I would, on behalf of the school like to invite you to visit our school and talk to the people who have to put up with this unacceptable situation.

Balksbury Infant School
Many thanks for the email, and I was sorry to learn of the problems confronting those at the school with the smell of sewage.
This is far too urgent to await a visit from me, and I am pursuing the matter urgently with Hampshire County Council.
While writing, I would like to congratulate the school on the outstanding Ofsted report which Sheila Hindle has just told me about.
I will let you know how I get on.
Yours sincerely
