Dear Sir George,
At risk of seeming tiresome I would like to offer the following:-
From US sources, I learn that NATO had nuclear weapons at their disposal from 1970 until 1991 and only then stopped targeting USSR. All these weapons were made in US and so were the delivery systems and technology needed to launch. I cannot believe that US would have allowed anyone but themselves to use them.
Furthermore, I cannot recall any crisis in which NATO decisions were at variance to US.
In the absence of any other facts concerning NATO/US, I think TRUTH is a better description than absurd to my claim that NATO is an instrument of US foriegn policy.
Finally, if Ukraine,Poland, Czech Republic and Georgia become members of US dominated NATO they will be without allies and forced into greater isolation. Future leaders may not be as tolerant as Putin and might use their armed forces in defiance of the threat.
