| B343 and Howerd Tenon lorry |
| The issue: |
copy of an email send to Howard Tenon in Andover "As an Andover company your highly trained drivers of the larger lorries know full well all the pitfalls of travelling along the B343 passing tiny thatched cottages clinging to the roadside.
Why then, when there was nothing holding up the traffic on the purpose-built A34, did one of your lorries (HX07BLJ) head off along the B343 on the evening of Thursday 12th February? There was nothing wrong with his driving, he obeyed all the speed limits through the various small villages my complaint is that his vehicle weighs considerably more than the 25+ cars following him from Highclere to Andover.
You only have to see the damage of the snow and ice, plus closing the A34 recently and diverting all of the traffic onto the B343, had on the surface of this road.
My large worry is that with the possibility of the MEGASHED being built in Andover, all those other lorries that used to use the A303 and the A34 will divert off onto the B343 increasing the traffic noise, the vibrations to the houses and the strain of living in a quiet village which is now a "rat run".

PS I will be sending a copy of this email to my MP Sir George Young." |

Dear Mrs Pond
Many thanks for the email via my website – the 343 is an A road rather than a B road, but your point is a fair one. Do let me know if you don’t get a satisfactory response.
Best wishes, George Young
(Any reply from the company will of course be published)
