| The issue: |
Dear Sir George
I am recently retired as PM at Charlton Hill Surgery & I had the pleasure of meeting you when Geoff Hoon visited.
My wife & I are registered TVBC litter pickers & we do our best to keep our village litter free. However, travelling by car has depressed us both with large amounts of litter on all the local highways & especially the A303 in both directions. Also the road to Farleigh school from St John's Cross is bad.
We travelled to Salisbury yesterday & the Wilts section of the A343 was being cleared of litter but the Hants section needs attention.
Please will you help with raising this issue with TVBC & HCC to tackle the immediate problem. Do they routinely schedule a program of keeping the country side clear of litter/ rubish ?
Thank you for your help & best wishes.

Many thanks for your email, and I am most grateful to you and your wife for the action which you take as registered TVBC litter pickers. Abbotts Ann is an example of what other villages could do.
I am pursuing with TVBC and HCC the specific issues you have raised, and will let you know how I get on.
