Dear Sir,
Whilst no longer a constituent and by political leaning, not a natural Conservative, I am writing to express my hope that following the undignified but undoubtedly necessary departure of the current incumbent that you will be considered for and, if selected, choose to accept the position of speaker of the house. In a period where the Commons has much to do to recover its standing in the eyes of the public, I feel you would represent a fine choice to help lead what will undoubtedly be at times a difficult process of rehabilitation.
