Ken Clarke
The issue: Like you, I was disappointed that he failed to gain enough votes in the first round. My concern over Dvid Cameron is that he lacks sufficient experience. A partnership of KC and him would have been quite formidable. I think Liam Fox is the man with experience, youth and a bit of a personality - more appealing than David Davies, I feel. Would it not be better to allow all the candidates names to go to a full vote?

My response:
Many thanks for the email and I agree it is sad that the man with the most public appeal will not be in the final round.
I am about to see David Cameron and will then decide whether to support him. Of the three who are left, his overall approach to political issues most closely resembles my own.
Yes, he lacks the experience of the other candidates and there is an element of risk in backing him. My view is that it may well be a risk worth taking and that he has the capacity to respond to the challenge.
Best wishes, George Young
