"This new garden has, as its feature in the centre, a marvellously sculpted eagle, and on one of the sides a series of marble tablets on which the names can be inscribed of those who have connections with the Army Aircorps". The memorial area is the latest of a series of initiatives to expand the museum, and to increase the amount of visitor traffic. "I was very encouraged to hear of the plans to look through the archives which the museum has acquired, and see how these can best be put in the public domain. I was also interested to hear of initiatives to promote the museum as a place where functions can be held - it already has a useful market share and I am sure that this can be further expanded". Attending the unveiling ceremony were widows of those who had served in the Army Aircorps. http://www.armyflying.com/ |
