I have been interested in politics since I was at school, and dabbled in politics at University. After getting married, my wife and I lived in Clapham, on the borders with Brixton. The area faced many challenges and we wanted to do something about it. We both stood for Lambeth Borough Council and were lucky enough to get on - along with John Major! I found politics addictive, and moved on to the Greater London Council and then to Parliament. I joined the Conservative Party because I believe a free enterprise, low tax economy will generate the wealth necessary to fund good quality public services. |
