Vernham Dean
According to rootsweb (http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~villages/verhdean.htm) "the parish name is "Vernhams Dean". We are at the meeting point of Hampshire, Wiltshire and Berkshire. The village centre is now a designated conservation area. The village boasts a famous ghost - the Rector is said to haunt Chute Causeway, en route to Fosbury Camp, where he abandoned his flock during the Black Death in 1665!

I was delighted to be invited to open the new village hall, built after a very successful fund raising campaign by the Village Hall Management Committee, February 2000 (picture).
